Come
aboard the Sensitive Tourism Project! |
|
| |
|
|
|
| What’s
that? |
|
| |
It’s getting
people from parallel realities together.
It’s facilitating meetings of people who normally never
meet.
It’s taking middle class city-dwellers on holiday into
the remote hinterland country of Brazil’s Northeast.
Where they meet with people of really different cultural
peculiarities.
People who mostly are excluded from the formal economy
and all social services and facilities.
|
|
| What
for? |
| |
In order to
have us engage in redistribution.
To have those who can, help those who need.
By eating there, by staying overnight there, by buying
a little product there (and not in the shops of a tourist
town where the flow of money is already strong).
To have us learn from each other.
To make friends and recognize prejudices and break exclusion.
To combine the pleasure of holidays with the building
of brotherhood.

|
| How
does it work? |
| |
Our Sensitive
Tours are no prefabs.
All depends on your time (tours from two days on) and
your interests.
We’ll tailor your individual route together by choosing
from the elements.
|
|
| |
These are the
elements: |
|
| |
|
• Contact with unspoiled
Nature
• Contact with the country folk
• Contact with descendants of runaway slaves
• (Pre-Columbian) History
• Regional and traditional rural village life
• Regional agriculture
• Waterfalls
• Caves
• Native American rock paintings
• Mountainous areas, table mountains, peaks
|
|
| |
Depending, again,
on your time but also on your disposition and physical
fitness we will move either by (bush-) hiking or by car.
In a few locations there are possibilities to either ride
or move by small boats. |
|
| |
If you thus
feel like |
|
| |
|
• diving into
the fantastic landscapes of the Diamond Highlands with
the most reliable and polyglot sensitive guides
• meeting genuine roots people of our socio-cultural
reality way off the tourist mainstream
• dividing a bit of your holiday budget with those who
have to battle for survival at the fringes of society.
